The plug-in has two working modes:
- The Layout mode for constructing a Splitter. (The Splitter may be used for cutting your image into puzzle pieces.)
- The Puzzle mode, in which you operate puzzle pieces for obtaining the jig-saw puzzle effect.
While working with the plug-in you can switch from one working mode into another when necessary.
Switching from the Layout mode into the Puzzle mode:
When you start the plug-in, it is switched into the Layout mode by default (see Fig.1). You use the tools that the plug-in
provides in this mode to construct the Splitter.
Once you are happy with the result achieved in the Layout mode or, in other words, with the Splitter, you can use it (Splitter) in
various ways. (See
How to use the created Splitter? topic of the on-line User Guide.)
Here we are interested in only one of them: using the Splitter as a "big knife" for cutting your document into puzzle pieces,
since only this usage requires switching into the Puzzle mode.
To switch the plug-in from the Layout mode into the Puzzle mode, you should click the Cut button
located in the Cutter window.
Then, the Cutter window closes and the plug-in switches into the Puzzle mode, so that you could operate the puzzle pieces.
To learn more about operating puzzle pieces, read
The Puzzle Mode chapter of the on-line User Guide.
Switching from the Puzzle mode into the Layout mode:
After clicking the Cut button, located in the Cutter window, the plug-in's engine uses the Splitter as the "big knife" and cuts your
document into the puzzle pieces. At that, the plug-in switches into the Puzzle mode, in order to you could operate puzzle
pieces using the tools that Puzzle Pro 3.x provides in this mode.
When you are happy with the result achieved in the Puzzle mode, you can use the obtained jig-saw puzzle effect in various ways.
(See the following topics of the on-line User Guide:
How to get the created puzzle pieces inside the host?,
How to export the created puzzle pieces? and
How to save the created project?.)
But if you decide that the current layout (number of pieces, their shapes, etc.) has to be changed, then to modify the layout
you should switch the plug-in back into the Layout mode.
To switch the plug-in from the Puzzle mode into the Layout mode, do one of the following:
- Click the Relayout button, located in the Main window of the plug-in.
- Go under the Main menu and choose the Relayout menu item.
