Working with Puzzle Pro 3.1 / The Layout Mode / The Preset Manager's HOWTOs
The process of employing the Path can be split into two steps:
  1. Trying the Path.
  2. Choosing the Path.

Here is the detailed description of these steps:

Trying the Path: when you have found the knife's Path that fits your needs (Read the How to navigate and preview the paths stored in the Preset Manager? topic.), then a good idea is to try this Path on the existing Splitter, first. For this purpose do one of the following:
Once you have done one of the actions from above, then the picked Path will be cloned (propagated) with the specified mutation's level onto the existing Splitter. Along with that, the picked Path will be sent to the preview area of the Path palette (for editing purposes).

Note: as it works throughout the plug-in, when you try the Path, it will only be cloned onto the selected (in the Main Preview area) knives and if there are NO selected knives then this Path will be cloned onto ALL knives, of which the Splitter consists.

Note: while you try the Paths, the Preset Manager remains open.

Note: if after trying several Paths you decide that neither of them fits your needs, so you close the Preset Manager, then to get back the Path that you had been using before you had opened the Preset Manager, you should use the Undo option of the Path palette.

Note: you can edit the picked Path, using the Path palette's tools, only when you close the Preset Manager.

Choosing the Path: if, after trying the picked Path, you are happy with the appearance of the Splitter, then you should click the Choose Path button, so that to get the picked Path cloned onto the Splitter.

Note: after clicking the Choose Path button, the Preset Manager closes.

Note: as it works throughout the plug-in, when you click the Choose Path button, the Path will only be cloned onto the selected (in the Main Preview area) knives and if there are NO selected knives then this Path will be cloned onto ALL knives, of which the Splitter consists.

Note: Of course, you can click the Choose Path button without clicking the Try Path button first and this will do the job, but you will need to start the Preset Manager again in the event that you are not happy with the appearance of the Splitter after cloning the picked Path. This is why we recommend the Try Path operation prior clicking the Choose Path button.

Note: once you have clicked the Choose Path button, the Path becomes the Initial Path in the Terms' aspect.
